At around 3:30 EST the reports began to come in about possible explosions in Aleppo Syria at a weapons depot reportedly operated by pro-Iranian militia. It came out quickly from Hezbollah-affiliated media outlets that the explosion was a controlled explosion but there’s still lots of speculation as to if these were possible strikes by Israel. Head of British-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights Rami Abdel Rahman told the German press company Deutsche Presse-Agentur that it was unclear if the blast was the result of an accidental/controlled explosion or an air attack. This comes less than 24 hours after the United States, France and the United Kingdom launched a large scale strike on multiple Syrian targets. It’s completely understandable that the region is severely on edge. I’ll be posting updates on my Twitter account @inteldoge as I get them.
