The Israeli Defense Force confirmed early Monday morning that they had struck “a number” of Hamas targets inside of the Gaza Strip as a response to a rocket being fired toward the region of Ashkelon. The Israeli missile defense system, the Iron Dome, intercepted the projectile before it could reach it’s target.
The Israeli Defense Force Twitter account confirmed that a rocket was identified and that it was intercepted, and that no damage was reported from the rocket fire.
The Israeli Defense Force earlier on Sunday had struck two Hamas positions inside of Gaza as retaliation for an explosive device attached to balloons launched on a model airplane into Israel.
No injuries were reported inside of Gaza after the Israeli strikes, according to i24News, and sources inside of Gaza.
